National Garment Fair 2024: Record Success And Business Growth
The 79th National Garment Fair (NGF) 2024, orchestrated by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), concluded triumphantly, solidifying its status as India’s preeminent apparel trade show. Held from July 23 to 26, 2024, the event attracted over 39,000 buyers, primarily retailers, distributors, and wholesalers, generating an estimated INR 2100 crore in business over four days. Additionally, business inquiries ranging from INR 800 crores to INR 1000 crores are projected to materialize within the next 4-8 weeks.
Featuring more than 1300 apparel brands, the fair showcased their latest collections across a sprawling 1 million square feet of exhibition space, hosted at two venues: Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon for Men’s Wear, Women’s Wear, and Accessories, and Jio Convention Centre in BKC for Kids Wear.
Industry Leaders Speak
Rajesh Masand, President of CMAI, highlighted the fair’s impact on the domestic garment industry, stating, “The Fair has vividly illustrated the sector’s growth and transformative potential. Exhibitors Share Their Success Stories
Manish Creation, a prominent men’s ethnic wear brand from Kolkata, praised the event’s networking potential, saying, “CMAI provides an excellent platform for expanding our dealer network. The rising prominence of ethnic wear in the apparel industry makes trade shows increasingly vital for showcasing our innovations.”
Ritik Sheth of PARV Design Studio, a men’s ethnic wear brand from Mumbai, expressed gratitude to CMAI, stating, “We are a four-year-old company, and we’ve gained numerous new clients from this event. The set-up and CMAI’s support have been instrumental in our success.”
Manoj Gupta of Krishan Kumar & Sons, a men’s ethnic wear brand from Delhi, noted, “As the oldest ethnic brand in India, participating in NGF has always been beneficial. We consistently acquire new clients, including exporters, and the increasing participant numbers reflect the fair’s growing influence.”
Rohit Bhatia of JADEBERRY Men’s Wear from Indore highlighted the fair’s role in expanding their market reach, “Since attending CMAI, we’ve closed deals with distributors, dealers, and retailers from previously untapped regions.”
Chirag Kewalramani of ZANAAB, a men’s wear brand from Nagpur, shared his delight, “We received an order from a Florida retailer, which is significant for a regional player like us. We are grateful to CMAI and NGF for this international exposure.”
Mukesh Panjwani of Sky Clothing and Megha Dresses from Indore, specializing in kids wear, appreciated the response at NGF, saying, “The fire started here from Day 1. CMAI provides all the facilities we need, and we always gain valuable experience.”
Barbie from TINY GIRL, a girls’ kid wear brand from Mumbai, echoed similar sentiments, “Every exhibition with CMAI brings new market exposure and clients, enhancing our business growth.”
Women’s wear participants also lauded the event. Shaily Gupta of FLO & NOYA from Jaipur and Nikita Moryani of Nian Fashion from Surat both praised the excellent footfall and quality of client interactions, even amid heavy rainfall.
