NITRA And Welspun Partner For Sustainable Textile Innovation
The Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) and Welspun Living Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop eco-friendly textile products using Milkweed fibre—an emerging sustainable raw material. The agreement was formalised on June 20, 2025, at Welspun’s Anjar facility in Gujarat.
The MoU was signed by Updeep Singh Chatrath, Resident Director – Delhi, Welspun Living and Dr. M.S. Parmar, Director General of NITRA. Also present on the occasion was Deep Singh Saluja, Vice President & Head of R&D at Welspun Global Brands, underlining the collaborative initiative’s strategic importance.
This partnership has been enabled under the visionary leadership of Dipali Goenka, Managing Director and CEO of Welspun Living, whose continued commitment to sustainability and industry academia collaboration has played a key role in bringing the two organisations together.
