‘Our Biggest Strength Has Been Our Unwavering Commitment To Consistency, Quality And Customer Trust’

Our long-term mindset backed by strong partnerships and a customer-first philosophy has kept us moving forward, even when the market has slowed down, says Himanshu Fogla
Jumac Cans has been trusted for decades. What has been the driving force behind your continued success?
At Jumac, our biggest strength has always been our unwavering commitment to consistency, quality and customer trust. Even in challenging industry cycles, we’ve continued to innovate and invest in better materials, better engineering and better service. This long-term mindset backed by strong partnerships and a customer-first philosophy has kept us moving forward, even when the market has slowed down.
What makes Jumac spinning cans a must-have for today’s modern spinning mills?
Modern spinning mills demand reliability, precision and longevity, exactly the attributes Jumac cans are known for. Our cans are engineered for smooth fibre handling, minimal maintenance and long-term durability, making them an ideal fit for high-speed spinning environments. Customers value products that perform consistently, and that is where Jumac continues to stand out.
You launched Jumac Intelligence Plus (JI+) at India ITME 2022. Two years later, how has the response been from customers so far? Have you added any new features since then?
JI+ has been extremely well received by the industry and the excitement around it has exceeded our expectations. Even in a tough market, customers see JI+ as a much-needed step toward smart, data-driven spinning operations. Our newly introduced JI+ can has created a fresh wave of enthusiasm, and the ongoing Phase 2 trials are showing very encouraging results. We are confident that JI+ will completely redefine how cans are perceived and managed in spinning mills. It’s a revolution waiting to unfold.
Sustainability is a buzzword these days. How is Jumac making it real and taking measurable action?
At Jumac, sustainability is something we practice every single day. Our entire manufacturing facility is powered by solar energy, thanks to the large-scale installation of solar panels, a step that has significantly reduced our carbon footprint. We have also made our factory a complete no-plastic zone, ensuring responsible operations at every level. Along with this, we are actively shifting toward recycled materials that not only reduce environmental impact but also deliver even better performance for our products. These are concrete actions we have taken because we believe sustainability must be measurable, meaningful and genuinely impactful.
How does your R&D team help Jumac stay ahead in such a competitive market?
Jumac has always been an engineering-driven, innovation-focused company, never a “me-too” manufacturer. Our journey itself reflects this mindset. From being pioneers in introducing plastic spinning cans to now leading the industry with JI+, every milestone has been a breakthrough that delivers real value to every spinner, not just incremental improvement. Our R&D team plays a crucial role in this journey by constantly pushing boundaries, developing unique solutions and ensuring that our products solve real operational challenges for mills. This commitment to engineering excellence is what keeps us ahead, even in a competitive and evolving market.
What are the current trends in the spinning industry in India and globally, and how are they influencing the demand for your products?
Globally, the industry is going through a slow phase, but the shift towards automation, smart monitoring and better operational control is stronger than ever. Mills want to reduce losses, manage labour challenges and improve productivity and this has actually increased interest in solutions like JI+, which offer real-time visibility and efficiency gains. We see this transition as a key driver for future growth once the market stabilizes.
With a lot of disruption in the textile supply chain, how is Jumac changing its business strategy?
We are using this period to strengthen our fundamentals, improving service networks, optimising our logistics and expanding to newer geographies. At the same time, we’re pushing harder on digital-enabled products like JI+, which can help mills become more resilient. This strategic shift ensures that when the industry turns around—and we are confident it will—Jumac will be even stronger and more future-ready.
Is there any new product or innovation in the pipeline that the industry can look forward to from Jumac?
Absolutely. Along with the second phase of JI+ enhancements currently under trial, we are working on several innovations aimed at making spinning operations more intelligent, predictable and cost-efficient. The feedback so far has been extremely positive and we believe the upcoming launches will give mills a fresh perspective on what spinning cans can truly achieve. A major transformation is indeed on the way.
At Jumac, sustainability is something we practice every single day. We have taken concrete actions because we believe sustainability must be measurable, meaningful and genuinely impactful.
The Response To Our Showcase At ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025 Was Very Encouraging: Himanshu Fogla
Marking over five decades of excellence in spinning can manufacturing, Jumac Manufacturing strengthened its position as a technology-driven company focused on automation and innovation at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025. Speaking after the event, Himanshu Fogla, Director of Jumac Manufacturing, reflected on the company’s showcase and the strong market response.
“We are now in our 52nd year and rather than introducing something entirely new, we continued to build upon our breakthrough innovation from 2023, the JI+ system,” said Fogla. “We wanted to take that project forward because we received tremendous interest from spinners looking to automate can transportation in a big way.”
The JI+ system, first launched two years ago, has now reached its second phase. This advancement enables spindle monitoring and complete traceability of cans throughout the pre-spinning section from carding to simplex. “With phase two, we can now monitor the spindle and trace the cans across the entire pre-fabricated section. It’s about giving our customers better visibility and efficiency across their production lines,” Fogla explained.
Despite earlier market uncertainties, the company recorded an unexpectedly strong response at the exhibition. “The response was very good. We had visitors from across the region like India, Bangladesh, Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan,” Fogla noted. “Most of them were very keen to learn more about the developments on the JI+ front. There was palpable excitement among spinners.”
He added that while industry sentiment before the event had been cautious, the outcome was far more positive. “People were skeptical about the exhibition, but it turned the other way around. The response was very encouraging,” he said.
Looking ahead, Fogla expressed optimism about the market trajectory. “From what we observed at the exhibition, owners are keen to modernize and expand. Things are not as bad as they appear on paper,” he remarked. “We’re seeing some very positive undercurrents, especially from the Indian and Chinese markets, and I expect green shoots to emerge in the coming quarter.”
With its continued focus on automation, data-driven operations, and sustained innovation, Jumac reaffirmed its reputation as a reliable partner for modern spinning mills worldwide.
