Pakistani Textile Exports Drop 11.44% In July 2023
Pakistani textile exports dropped 11.44 percent to $1.31 billion in July 2023 as compared to $1.48 billion in the same month of last year.
However, cotton yarn exports bucked the declining trend and surged 35.96 percent to $97.03 million in the month under review as against $71.36 million in July 2022.
“On the other hand shipments of cotton fabrics fell sharply by 22.56 percent in the reporting month to $140.93 million from $181.98 million,” Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
Shipments of tents, canvas and tarpaulin rose 9.02 percent to $9.523 million from $8.735 million, while exports of knitwear moved down 16.13 percent from $434.64 million to $364.54 million.
In July 2023, exports of bedwear reduced to $253.98 or 14.60 percent, towels by 2.93 percent to $72.76 million and garments by 9.80 percent to $274.733 million, all from a year ago month.
Textile exports fell 10.89 percent on a month on month basis in July 2023 to $1.47 billion.
