Phifer Expands Specialty Fabrics With Sunbrella Licensing Partnership
Collaboration to debut Sunbrella Sling collection in early 2026
Phifer Incorporated has entered into a licensing agreement with Glen Raven Materials Solutions Group to produce Sunbrella-branded Sling fabrics for outdoor furniture, further strengthening its specialty textile portfolio.
The partnership combines Phifer’s 70 years of expertise in performance fabrics with Sunbrella’s industry-leading design and durability. The first collection, launching in January 2026, will feature approximately 50 stock fabrics alongside custom-made options, developed collaboratively by Phifer and Sunbrella design teams.
Manufactured across Phifer’s U.S. and Asian facilities, the Sunbrella Sling fabrics integrate Sunbrella’s signature acrylic yarns with Phifer’s proprietary sling technology. The resulting textiles offer a balance of strength, softness, stain resistance and ease of maintenance, aimed at elevating both comfort and aesthetic appeal in the casual outdoor furniture market.
Hugo Benitez, National Market Manager of Designed Fabrics at Phifer, said the collaboration complements Phifertex and strengthens their design-forward, performance-driven offerings. Sunbrella Vice President Suzie Roberts added that the partnership addresses evolving customer demands by combining durability with style.
This strategic alliance underscores Phifer’s ongoing commitment to innovation and positions both brands to set a new benchmark for high-performance, design-led outdoor fabrics.
