Phoenox Textiles Strengthens Carpet Manufacturing With Advanced Brückner Back-Coating Line

UK-based Phoenox Textiles Ltd., has reinforced its commitment to combining manufacturing heritage with technological advancement through a strategic investment in a state-of-the-art carpet back-coating line from German textile machinery specialist Brückner.

The move marks a significant milestone for the Huddersfield-headquartered company as it continues to modernise operations while building on more than seven decades of textile manufacturing expertise.

Founded in 1954 in Yorkshire, one of the UK’s historic textile heartlands, Phoenox Textiles has established a strong reputation for quality, reliability and innovation. Now under fourth-generation leadership of the Mosley family, the company continues to evolve its manufacturing capabilities while remaining deeply rooted in its regional textile legacy.

Over the years, Phoenox has developed a strong specialisation in carpets, floor mats and play rugs, with nearly 80 percent of its product portfolio still manufactured at its Huddersfield headquarters. This sustained commitment to domestic manufacturing reflects the company’s long-term focus on UK-based value creation and production excellence.

Strategic Investment to Expand Capacity
The investment in Brückner’s advanced carpet back-coating technology was driven by Phoenox’s ambition to expand production capacity, streamline manufacturing processes and unlock new business opportunities while maintaining consistently high quality standards.

Following extensive project planning and technical evaluation, Phoenox selected Brückner as its preferred technology partner, citing the German family-owned company’s engineering expertise and strong track record in textile finishing solutions.

The newly installed coating line delivered impressive results soon after commissioning, exceeding contractually agreed production targets during the start-up phase and demonstrating strong operational reliability.

Strong Technical Partnership
Phoenox highlighted Brückner’s technical expertise, collaborative project execution and responsive service support as key contributors to the project’s success.

The partnership extends beyond equipment installation and includes ongoing technical consultancy, maintenance support, system upgrades and reliable spare parts supply, ensuring long-term operational efficiency and performance optimisation.

Balancing Heritage with Innovation
The investment underscores Phoenox Textiles’ strategy of blending traditional manufacturing values with advanced production technology to remain competitive in the evolving global flooring textiles market.

By strengthening its production infrastructure, the company is positioning itself for sustainable growth while reaffirming its status as a leading international supplier.

The project also reflects a broader trend across the textile sector, where manufacturers are increasingly investing in advanced automation and process optimisation to enhance efficiency, improve product quality and respond more effectively to changing market demands.
