Pleva Showcases Smart Automation Solutions For Textile Finishing At ITMA Asia 2025

As customer expectations rise and skilled labour becomes increasingly scarce, smart sensor technology and automated control systems are proving essential in modern textile finishing. Pleva addresses these challenges with its robust sensors, the PLEVATEC smart process control system, and the SL smart automatic weft-straightener, enabling high-quality production with minimal operator involvement.

The system integrates sensors for fabric/air temperature, residual moisture, exhaust humidity and pick/course density into one intelligent platform, offering recipe management, historical data tracking and a clear process overview.

The SL smart weft-straightener delivers precise fabric straightening across a wide range of textile types. Its traversing camera system, intuitive interface and recipe management ensure high accuracy with minimal manual input and low maintenance requirements. Harris Tweed Hebrides in Scotland, a producer of 100% wool handwoven tweed, recently replaced their pinwheel straightening system with SL smart.

“The traversing camera is extremely accurate and adapts automatically to the fabric. Straightening is precise and non-damaging, with minimal operator involvement. Productivity gains have been clear, and Pleva support has been excellent,” reported David Stewart of Harris Tweed Hebrides.

Pleva will showcase these innovations at ITMA Asia 2025, Hall 07, Booth A210, highlighting the benefits of smart automation in improving quality, efficiency and reproducibility in textile finishing.
