Polygiene Launches Unique Plant-Based Antimicrobial Technology
Supplier of odour control solutions Polygiene has launched a unique, plant-based antimicrobial technology for the textile industry.
The company has signed an exclusive distributor agreement with French biotech company Proneem, to gain access to a 100 percent bio-based active ingredient extracted from plant-based substances.
This new technology, known as StayFreshBIO, serves as an excellent complement to Polygiene’s existing silver-based solution.
“With the growing demand for metal-free antimicrobial additives in certain regions, StayFreshBIO offers exciting potential,” the Swedish company said in a press release.
According to the company, the active ingredient in StayFreshBIO is a natural organic acid widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries.
By partnering with Proneem, Polygiene secures a unique, first-to-market product with global exclusivity specifically in the sports & outdoor and lifestyle & fashion segments.
With this new collaboration, Polygiene Group expects to strengthen its position in the textile market and open doors to a more sustainable future in odour control solutions.
