Primark To Double Romania Presence With Four New Stores In 2026

International fashion retailer Primark has announced plans to open four new stores in Romania in 2026, doubling its presence in the market and creating more than 450 new jobs.

The new stores will open at Sibiu Shopping Centre and Arena Mall Bacău, joining previously announced locations at Electroputere Mall in Craiova and Palas Mall in Iași. Together, the four openings will add 10,870 sq m of retail space, bringing Primark’s total store count in Romania to eight by the end of 2026.

Primark currently operates four stores in the country, with two locations in Bucharest and one each in Timișoara and Cluj-Napoca. The expansion, announced as the retailer marks three years in the Romanian market, underlines its long-term commitment to the country and its growing customer base.

The new stores will offer Primark’s full range of affordable fashion and everyday essentials across clothing, beauty, lifestyle and home, including the expanding Primark Cares collection. More than 70 per cent of Primark’s clothing is currently made using recycled or more sustainably sourced materials, with a target to reach 100 per cent by 2030.

Commenting on the expansion, Maciej Podwojski, Head of CEE at Primark, said the retailer has built a loyal customer base since entering the market and credited its retail teams for driving the brand’s success. He added that Primark is looking forward to further investment, job creation and welcoming more shoppers across Romania in 2026.
