Shahi Exports Reports Strong Sustainability Progress In FY 2024–25

Shahi Exports, India’s largest apparel and textile manufacturer, has released its Sustainability Progress Report for FY 2024–25, highlighting significant advances across climate action, social responsibility and industry collaboration. The report covers the period from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, with a primary focus on the company’s operations in India.
A key highlight of the year was Shahi’s decisive shift from coal to sustainable biomass, a strategic move that helped increase its carbon-neutral energy mix to 51%, up from 36% in the previous year, surpassing internal targets ahead of schedule.
Commenting on the achievement, Harish Ahuja, Managing Director and Chairperson, Shahi Exports, said the transition reflects careful planning, disciplined execution and the company’s commitment to building a more responsible energy future.
Alongside environmental progress, Shahi strengthened its focus on people and communities. During the year, the company delivered over one million hours of employee training, including technical skills training for 75,000 women. More than 17,000 workers benefited from health camps, while 100 per cent access to its digital worker-voice platform, Inache, was ensured across operations. Community initiatives in education, health, environment, employment and empowerment reached over 475,000 individuals.
Shahi also expanded its influence through collaboration, co-founding the Fashion Producers Collective to promote supplier-led innovation. The company continued its engagement with The Fashion Pact and joined the OECD Advisory Group on Responsible Supply Chains and the Coalition for Reproductive Justice in Business under UNFPA, reinforcing its alignment with global governance and sustainability frameworks.
Going forward, Shahi Exports aims to further scale people- and planet-positive practices, creating long-term value for stakeholders while setting new benchmarks for responsible manufacturing in the apparel sector.
