Shima Seiki Unveils APEXFiz Design-Sox Software For 3D Sock Design

Shima Seiki Mfg. Ltd., a leading flat knitting solutions provider from Wakayama, Japan, has launched APEXFiz Design-Sox, a new addition to its APEXFiz subscription software lineup, tailored specifically for sock design.

This new package simplifies the adoption of 3D virtual sampling in the sock industry by integrating 3D functionality as a standard feature, eliminating the need for additional optional modules and reducing implementation costs. Previously, sock designers required subscriptions to APEXFiz Design-Knit or Design Pro along with extra 3D software.

To help customers get started, Shima Seiki offers a demonstration video on the APEXFiz website and a dedicated 3D sock design course via its Shimanavi e-learning platform.

The launch follows Shima Seiki’s collaboration with Lonati S.p.A., aimed at advancing sustainable sock development. APEXFiz Design-Sox, when used with Orion programming software from Lonati, enables optimized sock production through realistic 3D virtual samples.
