Spiber Expands In Europe With New Brewed Protein Partnerships

Spiber, the Japanese biotech innovator behind Brewed Protein fibre, is expanding its European footprint through key partnerships with top textile manufacturers. In collaboration with Manifattura Sesia, Spiber has launched T-Gen—a series of yarns containing 30% Brewed Protein blended with certified superfine Merino wool. These lightweight, soft-touch yarns come in three variations and are positioned as high-performance, sustainable options for modern knitwear.

Spiber has also partnered with Italian mill Achille Pinto to develop Europe’s first textiles combining Brewed Protein with silk and wool (15–30% content). Achille Pinto is now the first in Europe to showcase print capabilities on Brewed Protein fabrics, targeting accessories like scarves and shawls.

Early collaborators are also unveiling updated collections. Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia has created two yarns with 30% Brewed Protein and 70% RWS wool for premium knits. Botto Giuseppe continues to offer the only 100% Brewed Protein yarn in Europe, with expanded colour options and customization. Marzotto has refreshed its FiberPro line with five new tailoring fabrics blending 30% Brewed Protein with fine wool.

Japanese distributor Takisada-Nagoya is introducing 20+ new fabrics, including the first suit fabric made entirely from Brewed Protein, coat blends and seven new denim options—one with the market’s highest 20% Brewed Protein content.
