Sportking India Chooses Rieter For High-Tech Compact-Spinning Expansion

Sportking India Ltd., the vertically integrated textile conglomerate, has announced a major investment in a complete Rieter compact-spinning system from blowroom to winding to produce the highest-quality compact yarns from Indian cotton with maximum productivity.
As part of its strategic expansion, Sportking is setting up a greenfield spinning project in Odisha with 150,000 spindles. The facility will feature the latest Rieter machinery and automation solutions, including the high-performance C 81 card with intelligent Carding Gap Control, the RSB-D 27 autoleveler draw frame with dual machine sides, and the fully automated combing set with ROBOlap for uninterrupted, efficient operations.
The installation also includes the latest Rieter ring-spinning machine equipped with a fast doffer that completes cycles in just 90 seconds, advanced spinning geometry, the SERVOdisc cop transport system, and Rieter’s newest compacting device designed for universal compatibility across raw materials and yarn counts.
A direct link to the Autoconer X6 winding machine allows Sportking to operate at the highest levels of automation. The Autoconer’s improved ergonomics, open prism technology, spindle identification system (SPID), and RFID-based material flow ensure superior yarn quality, optimized splicing, and flexible automation across processes.
Munish Avasthi, CMD of Sportking India Ltd. said, “We have selected Rieter based on its excellent technology, unrivaled experience and long-term reliability. Rieter machines provide stronger stability and higher production efficiency, which will further support us in growing profitably. This will take us one step forward in the market in terms of quality and productivity.”
