Sustainability And Innovation Are Our Foundation For Growth

Premier Fine Linens has clearly prioritized sustainability and innovation. Can you share a personal story or moment when you realized that these values would define the company’s future?
Our Chairman R Jagadish Chandran laid the foundation by making sustainability a core part of Premier’s strategy early on. Over 20 years ago, he invested in wind energy for the whole group — a testament to his foresight and belief that our future depends on how sustainable our ideas and actions are. This vision inspired the culture of responsible innovation that defines Premier today.
We understood that sustainability and innovation are not separate initiatives — they are our foundation for growth. Since our inception, every decision is evaluated through the lens of environmental responsibility and long-term impact.
As Premier expands into new product lines like apparel and digital printing, how do you balance preserving the legacy of craftsmanship with the push towards high-tech automation?
We see craftsmanship and technology as complementary — not conflicting. Critical aspects such as embellishments are still overseen by skilled artisans. Automation and digital tools are leveraged to enhance speed, precision and eco-efficiency. Ongoing investment in training ensures our people stay ahead with evolving tools and methods. The fusion of tradition with technology keeps us innovative while honouring our heritage.
How has forward integration helped you in the growth of your company as well as other Premier Group companies?
Forward integration has enabled complete control from yarn to finished product, ensuring quality and speed. It has strengthened direct connections with global brands and retailers and facilitated cross-learning and synergy across various Premier Group entities. It has also improved resource utilization and value addition within the supply chain and created opportunities to diversify offerings and enter new customer segments.
With women making up over 65% of your workforce, what key insights have you gained about fostering an inclusive workplace? How do you envision this focus on inclusivity shaping Premier’s culture over the next decade?
An inclusive culture is driven by respect, opportunity and active listening. Empowering women has directly contributed to enhanced quality, collaboration and employee satisfaction. Future goals include strengthening leadership development, mentorship and training for women. Continued focus on safe, equitable working conditions for all. Over the next decade, inclusivity will remain a core cultural pillar, fostering diversity and long-term organizational strength.
In an increasingly crowded and competitive global market, how does Premier Fine Linens differentiate itself not just through products, but through brand experience and customer relationships?
We offer a complete experience: fine-quality products backed by reliability and service, prioritize long-term partnerships through consistent communication and trust.
Flexibility to meet unique customer needs while ensuring high standards across orders and strong storytelling around sustainability, heritage and craftsmanship reinforces our brand.
