TAI Delhi Organises 77th All India Textile Conference
The 77th All India Textile Conference organised by the Textile Association (India) – Delhi was held in March at IIT-Delhi under the theme of ‘Post-Pandemic on Global Vision of Textile Industry’.
The conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Madhu Sudhan Bhageria, Chairman of Filatex India, while Anil Jain, Chairman of Jain Cord Group of Industries was Guest of Honour.
Other notable attendees included RK Vij, President – Emeritus of TAI Central office; TL Patel, National President of TAI; Ritesh Gupta, President of TAI Delhi, and Ms DK Singh, Chairman of the 77th AITC.
During the inaugural session, TAI’s prestigious awards were presented to deserving individuals for their outstanding contributions to the textile industry.
RK Vij received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his exemplary social services, while TK Sen Gupta and Prof. GK Tyagi were also honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The conference provided a platform for industry delegates from all over India to engage in meaningful discussions about the future of the textile industry in a post-pandemic world.
With a focus on emerging trends such as sustainability, technical textiles, and protective textiles, the delegates delved into topics essential for meeting current challenges of the textile industry.
Dr. R. Alagiruamy, Head of the Department of Textile and Fibre Engineering at IIT Delhi, highlighted the various facilities available at the institute to support research and innovation in the textile sector.
Moreover, Prof. BK Behera from IIT Delhi shed light on the theme of the event, emphasising the importance of adapting to the post-pandemic scenario in the textile industry.
The two-day conference concluded with a valedictory session where Rohit Rishi, Executive Director of Bank of Maharashtra, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
