TAI Organising Conference On Sustainability & Circularity
The Textile Association (India), Mumbai Unit is organising an international conference, ‘Sustainability and Circularity – The New Challenges for The Textile Value Chain’ on January 31 at Hotel Lalit, Mumbai.
TAI Mumbai has planned this conference to appraise the Indian textile fraternity, including designers and fashion schools about new circular sustainable models.
The association has made all-out efforts to cover most of the topics and the conference will be addressed by policy makers, reputed textile professionals and renowned experts.
The conference will be attended by 400 delegates, who will benefit from this conference and help them in conveying that sustainability and circularity is not a choice anymore but a necessity.
The Chief Guest is Virendra Singh, Secretary (Textiles), Govt. of Maharashtra and the keynote speaker will be Dr. Naresh Tyagi, Head-Product Development & Quality Assurance, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle.
Mayank Mody, Director, Mody Linen Fibre will address on the topic of Sustainable Textile Fibre, while Amit Gautam, Founder, TextileGenesis will speak on the topic of Traceability and Transparency.
Umasankar Sinha Mahapatra, MD, Pulcra Chemicals India will present on Circularity in Design and Shiladitya Joshi, Asst. GM (Product & Marketing), Truetzschler India will speak on Recycling.
There will be a panel discussion on ‘Achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs)’ which will be moderated by Chandrima Chatterjee, Secretary General, CITI.
The panel members include Murugan Thenkondar, Global Head Marketing, Birla Cellulose; Sharafat Mallik, Sourcing Operations- India/Sri Lanka, C&A Sourcing; K Srinivasan, Raw Material Specialist, IKEA Services (India) and; Avik Banerjee, Material and Components, H&M Group.
