Telangana CM Promotes Warangal Textile Park Abroad
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, during his visit to the US and South Korea to attract investment, has promoted the mega textile park in Warangal as a prime investment destination for Korean companies. Accompanied by State Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and a team of officials, Reddy highlighted the park’s potential during a business roundtable organized by the Korea Federation of Textile Industry (KOFOTI).
The event saw enthusiastic responses from key figures, including Kihak Sung, Chairman of Youngone, and Soyoung Joo, Executive Vice-Chairman of KOFOTI. Reddy expressed optimism about securing increased investments for Warangal and other regions of Telangana in the textile sector. He indicated that a task force will be established to expedite the follow-up on investment opportunities.
Additionally, Reddy and his team engaged with senior leaders of LS Corp, a major Korean industrial conglomerate formerly part of the LG group. Discussions with LS Corp’s Chairman Koo Ja Eun and his team covered potential investments in Telangana, including sectors such as electric cables, gas and energy, and batteries. Reddy extended an invitation for the LS Corp team to visit Telangana, anticipating a formal welcome as investors in the near future.
Prior to arriving in South Korea, Reddy had visited the US, where he experienced a driverless Waymo car in San Francisco. This demonstration of advanced technology was also attended by Minister D. Sridhar Babu.
