Three Workers Die In Toxic Gas Incident At Rajasthan Textile Factory

Three workers died in a suspected toxic gas exposure incident while cleaning a sludge tank at a textile factory in the industrial area of Balotra district in Rajasthan on Friday.

According to officials, the workers were engaged in cleaning a sludge tank inside the factory when they suddenly lost consciousness after being exposed to poisonous fumes. Co-workers quickly pulled them out of the tank and arranged for them to be taken to a nearby hospital.

The workers were rushed to Nahata Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

Authorities identified the deceased as Gumanaram (30), Shravan (25) and Vishambhar (54). Preliminary findings indicate that the workers may have suffocated due to the presence of toxic gases inside the tank. Reports also suggest that they had entered the confined space without adequate safety equipment.

Following the incident, police and local administrative officials reached the factory premises, conducted a site inspection and sent the bodies to the mortuary. Family members of the deceased also gathered at the hospital after receiving information about the accident.

Officials have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the deaths and to examine whether safety protocols were followed at the facility.
