UP’s Budget Allots Slew Of Provisions For Textile Industry

The Uttar Pradesh government has allotted Rs 400 crore for the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Powerloom Vidyut Flat Rate Yojana to boost prospects of the state’s powerloom sector in its recently announced budget.

A Textile Park of around 1,000 acres near Lucknow and being set up under the PM Mega Integrated Textiles Region and Apparel (PM-MITRA) scheme too has received a budgetary provision of Rs 400 crore.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Varanasi too has bagged Rs ₹150 crore in the budget.

There is a provision of interest subvention for three years for beneficiaries under the Pandit Deendayal Gramodyog Rojgar Yojana and the scheme has been allocated Rs 14 crore.

The Khadi and Village Industries Development and Continuous Employment Promotion Policy too will receive Rs 15.75 crore under the budget.
