Voltas Subsidiary UMPESL Partners With KPCL To Revolutionize Compressors In The Textile Industry

Universal MEP Projects & Engineering Services Limited (UMPESL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Voltas Limited, a TATA Enterprise, and Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited (KPCL) have entered into a strategic agreement to deliver world-class, energy-efficient Centrifugal and Screw Compressors to India’s textile industry.

Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited, a flagship entity of the Kirloskar Group, is a leading manufacturer of compressors and compression systems in India. It caters to diverse sectors, including Oil & Gas, Steel, Cement, Food & Beverage, Railways, Defence, and Marine, leveraging cutting-edge technology and advanced product designs.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. K. Srinivasan, Managing Director of Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited, said, “As India’s textile industry scales up to seize emerging global opportunities, access to world-class compressors like the Tezcatlipoca Centris and the KES range of screws will significantly enhance competitiveness and facilitate rapid growth. With the robust support of UMPESL, customers can also expect unparalleled service quality.”

Mr. Pradeep Bakshi, Managing Director of Universal MEP Projects & Engineering Services Ltd., stated, “This partnership enriches our portfolio of UMPESL products, reinforcing our position as a market leader offering state-of-the-art, one-stop solutions for manufacturing needs. This collaboration is expected to bolster both UMPESL’s and KPCL’s presence in the textile sector by leveraging technological expertise proven in other industries.”

He added, “Compressed air has become an essential component in the modern textile industry, where automation is widespread. While air is free, reliable compressed air with the required pressure is not. The cost of ensuring consistent compressed air with minimal lifecycle costs and maintenance is a critical concern for customers. KPCL’s advanced Centrifugal and Screw compressors provide the lowest Shaft Power Consumption (SPC) with reduced maintenance and spare part expenses.”

Mr. Pradip Roy, Head of the Textile Machinery Division at Universal MEP Projects & Engineering Services Ltd., remarked, “India’s textile industry stands at the forefront of a technological and sustainability-driven revolution. As a key player in the global supply chain, the industry demands innovative solutions. This partnership will enable us to deliver superior air compression solutions to the textile sector, and we are excited to work alongside KPCL in this endeavor.”
