VT Garment First To Earn GSD Excellence Gold Certification

VT Garment Co. Ltd, a global leader in apparel manufacturing, has become the first company to earn the GSD Excellence Gold Certification through Coats Digital’s new GSD Excellence Programme. This programme empowers manufacturers to enhance efficiency and sustainability using GSD’s data-driven methodology, helping them meet the high standards set by global brands.
Since adopting GSDCost, VT Garment has seen remarkable improvements: sales orders have surged by 30%, on-time delivery has increased by 13%, and production efficiency has risen by up to 30%. The company also significantly reduced overtime, air freight, machine rental and material costs.

Founded in 1981, VT Garment specializes in outerwear, sportswear and protective equipment, producing over 136,000 pieces per month. It serves major brands like Patagonia, Jack Wolfskin, and O’Neill, and operates ISO 9001-certified facilities in Thailand and Myanmar. The company is committed to sustainability, with 20% of its electricity sourced from solar energy.

The GSD Excellence Programme, which offers a three-tier certification system (Bronze, Silver, and Gold), assesses a company’s use of GSD methodology, production efficiencies and consistency of data. By achieving Gold Certification, VT Garment demonstrated its dedication to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, using scientifically-based time and cost standards.

“We are thrilled to achieve GSD Excellence Gold Certification,” said Chalumpon Lotharukpong, Managing Director of VT Garment. “This achievement reflects our commitment to Kaizen and refining global standards, backed by 40 years of expertise.” The company has also saved approximately $595 weekly in overtime costs and reduced machine rental expenses by $1,160 monthly.

Kunal Kapur, Managing Director of Coats Digital, praised VT Garment’s achievement, noting that the company’s success serves as a model for the industry, demonstrating how GSD methodology can drive efficiency and improve profitability. “VT Garment’s results are a testament to their expertise and dedication to continuous improvement, setting them apart as a leading force in the fashion manufacturing industry.”

By standardizing its processes with GSDCost, VT Garment has improved collaboration, productivity and profitability, securing its position as an industry leader in efficient, sustainable manufacturing.
