Xaar 2002 Printhead Powers System Ceramics’ Creaseven Printer

Xaar’s 2002 printhead powers System Ceramics’ new Creaseven digital printing machine, unveiled this week at the Latech Open House in Indonesia.

System Ceramics, a leader in ceramic industry technology since 1970, introduced the Creaseven to meet the growing demand for innovative ceramic tile printing. The collaboration between System Ceramics, Xaar and Indonesian tile producer Roman Ceramics was instrumental in bringing the machine to market.

The Creaseven features 60 Xaar 2002 GS12 printheads across four print bars, delivering exceptional flexibility, reliability and print quality with up to eight different fluids. The machine’s scalable architecture allows for up to 120 printheads across eight print bars, enabling production growth from basic decoration to complex, multi-fluid applications with special effects and glazes.

Xaar’s dual-channel architecture allows the printhead to jet two different fluids simultaneously, optimizing alignment at 360dpi, reducing the number of print bars, and enhancing fluid performance with individual waveforms. Higher resolution prints up to 720 dpi are achievable with a single fluid, ideal for intricate designs.

Xaar’s technologies maximize creativity in ceramic tile printing, offering both high and standard laydown for a wide range of effects in a single pass. The company’s software simplifies printhead setup, ensures print uniformity and meets the demand for flat tone tiles while preventing colour banding.

Reliability is enhanced by Xaar’s TF technology for optimal ink recirculation, and Sure Flow prevents nozzle blockages without removing the printhead, ensuring maximum uptime and productivity. AcuChp technology ensures consistent colour uniformity across the width of the printhead, reducing installation and set-up times for improved efficiency.

Roman Ceramics tested the machine extensively at its Indonesian facility, providing valuable feedback that helped System Ceramics fine-tune the Creaseven for the ceramic tile market.

“We’re excited about the game-changing impact of the Creaseven in ceramic tile printing,” said Stefano Severi, General Manager of System China. “With Xaar’s 2002 printhead, we’ve achieved outstanding quality, productivity and reliability.”

The Creaseven made its debut at System Ceramics’ Latech Open House, where Xaar COO Graham Tweedale discussed the company’s role in advancing ceramic tile printing.

“We’re proud that the Xaar 2002 printhead is central to this innovation,” said Graham Tweedale. “The Creaseven highlights the potential of collaboration between industry leaders like System Ceramics, Roman Ceramics and Xaar.”
