Better Cotton Pakistan Signs MoU With Mahmood Group and CCRI For Sustainable Cotton Production
Better Cotton Pakistan has signed an MoU with Mahmood Group and the Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI) to enhance the production and adoption of Better Cotton. Over the next three years, Mahmood Group will fund training for CCRI, aiming to establish it as an official Better Cotton Programme Partner, supporting around 8,000 farmers in Multan.
The collaboration comes as the cotton sector rebounds from devastating floods that affected over 40% of the 2022-23 crop. Muhammad Qadeer ul Hussnain from Better Cotton emphasized the commitment to restoring Pakistan’s status as a leading cotton producer.
The partnership will also focus on sustainable practices and community engagement, addressing challenges like climate change and high input costs.
