Techtextil 2026 Introduces Dedicated Segment For Textile Chemicals & Dyes

For the first time, Techtextil, the premier international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, will feature Textile Chemicals & Dyes as a standalone product area. From April 21–24, 2026, in Frankfurt, this new segment will provide a centralized platform for suppliers and users, highlighting the growing significance of these products in the global textile industry.
The dedicated segment will bring together the entire value chain—from fibre production to coating—creating a hub for innovation and collaboration. By locating Textile Chemicals & Dyes alongside Fibres and Yarns and Performance Apparel Textiles, Techtextil aims to facilitate direct communication between suppliers and users, enabling quicker problem-solving and fostering new synergies.
“Textile Chemicals & Dyes are critical for the production of technical and performance textiles. As environmental regulations and supply chain requirements grow more complex, this dedicated area will provide a platform for dialogue and innovation,” said Sabine Scharrer, Director Brand Management Technical Textiles & Textile Processing at Messe Frankfurt.
According to a 2021 MarketsandMarkets analysis, the global textile chemicals market is expected to reach US$ 33.1 billion by 2026. The increasing demand for technical textiles is a significant driver of this growth, emphasizing the sector’s expanding economic and functional importance.
Textile chemicals and dyes play a vital role in various applications, including:
- Protective and functional textiles: Providing water-repellent finishes for outdoor gear, flame resistance for firefighter suits, and durability for airbags.
- Industrial and construction textiles: Offering UV protection for erosion control materials and enhancing the efficiency of industrial filters.
- Medical textiles: Ensuring sterilization for safe usage in healthcare environments.
By dedicating a specific segment to Textile Chemicals & Dyes, Techtextil reinforces its position as the leading platform for technical textiles and nonwovens. This initiative addresses the rising demands for environmentally friendly processes and innovative solutions in textile manufacturing.
Participants can expect enhanced collaboration opportunities, greater awareness of emerging trends, and access to solutions that drive sustainability and functionality in textiles.
