Barmag To Showcase Yarn, Recycling Technologies At Egy Stitch & Tex Expo

Barmag and BB Engineering (BBE) will showcase technologies aimed at improving the efficiency, flexibility and sustainability of synthetic yarn production at the Egy Stitch & Tex Expo 2026 in Cairo from September 24 to 27.
The companies will present solutions covering the textile value chain from melt to yarn at the ATAG Ltd., booth (Hall 1, Booth C1), under the exhibition theme A New Era. Powered by Innovation. The portfolio will include technologies for continuous polycondensation and extrusion, POY, FDY and IDY yarn production and texturing systems for DTY, ATY, effect and specialty yarns.
The companies will also highlight solutions for BCF carpet yarns, staple fibres and nonwovens, alongside recycling technologies designed to support more sustainable textile production.
Egypt is emerging as an increasingly important hub for the manmade fibre industry, supported by growing demand for quality textile products across the Middle East and North Africa. Rising investments in textile manufacturing and the integration of regional value chains are also creating opportunities for producers and processors.
Recycling and polymer technology
Barmag Huitong Engineering’s homogenisation technology is designed to support the thermomechanical recycling of post-industrial polyester waste, including bottle flakes and film materials, for producing high-quality recycled PET (rPET).
By selectively increasing viscosity, the technology enables the production of defined intermediate products for pellets, melt or fibres for direct spinning. The system is intended to improve polymer-quality control while reducing dependence on external raw-material suppliers and increasing the value recovered from recycled materials.
Flexible DTY production
Barmag will also showcase its range of DTY systems for polymers including polyester, polyamide, polypropylene, PLA and PTT.
The modular machine configurations are designed to help producers respond to changing market requirements while maintaining consistent yarn quality and controlling operating costs. The systems can support a wide range of yarn products for apparel, home textiles and technical textile applications.
Specialty and fancy yarns
Growing demand for differentiated textile products is driving interest in yarns with distinctive appearances, textures and functional properties.
Barmag’s technologies support the production of effect yarns with cotton-like, linen-like and wool-like characteristics. Its process expertise and flexible equipment allow manufacturers to control yarn parameters and develop specialty products while maintaining cost-effective production.

The JeTex® air-texturing system from BB Engineering expands the product range to include high-quality ATY yarns and impresses with its high flexibility and efficient production processes.
Carpet and home textile applications
For carpet and home textile manufacturers, Barmag is promoting a system combining POY and texturing processes.
The combination of the WINGS HD POY winder and eAFK Big-V texturing machine enables the production of soft, voluminous polyester yarns with BCF-like properties. The solution is aimed at manufacturers producing high-titer yarns for demanding carpet and home textile applications.
VarioFil offers flexible spinning
BB Engineering will present its turnkey VarioFil® compact spinning system, developed for manufacturers producing small batches and specialised products.
The system can process different polymers and can be rapidly adapted to changing production requirements. Combined with Barmag’s texturing technologies, it enables manufacturers to produce products ranging from standard yarns to specialty and carpet yarns.
The VarioFil® R+ version can process PET bottle pellets and production waste directly into POY. BBE is also introducing its ValuePack spinning package for filament spinning, featuring a two-stage filtration system designed to improve melt homogeneity, spinning performance and process stability.
The technology is particularly suited to recycled materials, where consistent melt quality is critical for producing high-quality filament yarns.
JeTex expands ATY capabilities
BBE will also showcase JeTex®, its air-texturing technology for producing ATY yarns from POY and FDY.
The system uses a specially developed texturing box designed for gentle yarn handling, reproducible texturing effects and high production efficiency. JeTex® can be installed as a standalone system or used as a retrofit for existing DTY systems, allowing producers to expand their product portfolios without major investment in new equipment.
VacuFil and COBRA target recycling efficiency
Recycling will remain a key focus for BBE, with its VacuFil® PET recycling system designed to process different PET waste streams and produce recycled melt with quality comparable to virgin material.
The patented Visco+ technology removes volatile impurities and automatically regulates intrinsic viscosity. Its modular design allows flexibility in further processing and is intended to help textile manufacturers increase the use of recycled raw materials.
The VacuFil system also incorporates the COBRA filter, which can be integrated into existing production lines. The automated, continuous large-area filter uses an inline cleaning process that removes contaminants with steam, without chemicals, while allowing production to continue.
According to BBE, the system’s automation and self-cleaning capabilities can improve productivity, reduce operating costs through longer filter service life and enhance process reliability.
Lifecycle support for textile producers
Barmag will also highlight its customer service portfolio, covering the entire lifecycle of textile production plants.
Services include technology and process upgrades, retrofits, preventive maintenance and genuine replacement parts. Under its “Partnering for Performance” approach, Barmag aims to help chemical fibre producers improve plant productivity and availability, respond to changing market requirements and protect their investments over the long term.
