Bharat Tex 2025 – Day 1 & 2: A Resounding Success!

Bharat Tex 2025 commenced with grandeur at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh, Minister of State Pabitra Margherita, Secretary Neelam Shami Rao, and other dignitaries gracing the inauguration. The highly anticipated event, focused on innovation, sustainability and global collaboration, has attracted participation from over 120 countries, 33 international trade associations, and 46 leading global brands, reinforcing India’s role in the global textile supply chain.
Showcasing India’s Textile Heritage
The event spotlighted India’s rich textile traditions through live demonstrations of Banarasi weaving, Pashmina production, Kanjeevaram silk weaving, and Chikankari embroidery. Artisans and weavers connected with global buyers, industry experts and policymakers, exploring new opportunities for growth and international expansion.
Startup Pavilion: Driving Innovation in Textiles
The Startup Pavilion emerged as a major highlight, with the launch of Aavartan, a compendium featuring 3,000+ textile startups. The Sutradhar Pitch Fest, a Shark Tank-style investor session, showcased cutting-edge ventures in sustainable textiles, smart fabrics, digital fashion and technical textiles. IIT Madras led discussions on advancements in fibre science, smart wearables and AI-driven design.
Engaging Knowledge Sessions and Industry Dialogues
Day 1 featured high-impact discussions, including:
- India as a Stable Partner in an Uncertain World – Led by KPMG, examining India’s supply chain resilience.
- Scaling Up Textile Manufacturing – Exploring technology adoption and market expansion.
- Unlocking Employment Potential in Textiles – NITI Aayog and KPMG highlighted skill development strategies.
- Regional Focus: Africa – Industry leaders discussed expanding India’s textile trade in African markets.
With 42 panel discussions, 3 state sessions, 2 round tables, 26 master classes, and 1 workshop, Bharat Tex 2025 set the stage for impactful collaborations.
Strengthening India’s Global Textile Presence
Day 2 focused on export growth, investments and sustainability. The session on India’s $100 Billion Exports Target explored strategies to enhance trade agreements, logistics and market diversification. Discussions also addressed scaling up production while ensuring compliance with global standards through initiatives like PM MITRA parks and the PLI scheme.
A key highlight was a Fire Side Chat with Dipali Goenka, CEO & MD of Welspun Living Ltd., where she emphasized sustainability, leadership and digital transformation.
The Investors’ Meet, hosted by Gherzi, facilitated discussions on funding, infrastructure and policy incentives. The Innovation Challenge Felicitation Ceremony, organized by the Ministry of Textiles, recognized industry pioneers in sustainable manufacturing, technical textiles and digital fashion.

With strong participation from European, American, African and Southeast Asian delegates, Bharat Tex 2025 continues to serve as a premier platform for trade expansion and industry collaboration. Supported by major corporate players such as Aditya Birla, Reliance, Trident, Welspun, Arvind, Shahi, PDS, and Gokaldas, along with key state governments, the event is set to propel India’s textile industry forward.
