Lenzing Names Mathias Breuer New CFO

The Supervisory Board of Lenzing AG has extended the mandate of Chief Pulp & Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Christian Skilich by three years until May 31, 2029. Skilich, who joined the Management Board in June 2020, oversees key areas including pulp commercial and operations, co-products & wood, global HSE, purchasing and innovation.

“The pulp business under his leadership is a key profit driver and supports our integrated business model. His innovation portfolio will also be critical for shaping Lenzing’s future,” said Supervisory Board Chairman Patrick Lackenbucher.

At the same time, CFO Nico Reiner will step down when his mandate expires on December 31, 2025. Reiner, credited with improving earnings and steering major refinancing projects, will be succeeded by Mathias Breuer, currently Senior Vice President overseeing Lenzing’s performance program.

Breuer (42), who joined Lenzing in 2023, previously served as CFO of packaging group Adapa and of Sempermed, the medical division of Semperit AG Holding. He will assume the CFO role on January 1, 2026.

“With Mathias Breuer, we are appointing an experienced manager and financial expert from within our ranks,” Lackenbucher noted. “He will ensure continuity in our performance measures and further strengthen Lenzing’s global competitiveness.”

CEO Rohit Aggarwal added: “We thank Nico Reiner for his commitment during a crucial phase. At the same time, we welcome Mathias Breuer, who has played a central role in our transformation process and is well-positioned to drive the next phase of our financial strategy.”
