Indorama Ventures Champions Systemic Change In Textiles At Lisbon Conference

Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, a global sustainable chemical company, is set to participate in the Textile Exchange Conference in Lisbon from October 13-17, joining leading brand owners, technology providers, weavers, and knitters under the theme Shifting Landscapes. The company aims to drive systemic change across the textile value chain by promoting circularity, decarbonization, and sustainable material innovations.

Vipin Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer of Indorama Ventures’ Fibers Business, will lead the company’s engagement at the conference, emphasizing the importance of collaboration to unlock opportunities for industry transformation. “It is vital for us to be at the forefront of technological, material innovation, and regulatory discussions. The Textile Exchange network and annual conference provide an ideal platform to connect with like-minded partners sharing our ambition to drive circularity in textiles,” he said.

Indorama Ventures is targeting 16% of its externally sourced feedstock to be bio-based by 2030 and 23% of PET feedstock from recycled post-consumer PET bales. Alongside Kumar, the delegation includes Claire Mattelet, Global Fibers Sustainability Program Head, technical and technology experts, and advocacy specialists. The company will showcase its sustainable fibers and yarn portfolio, deja™, designed to support decarbonization and compliance with the upcoming European Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).

The deja™ portfolio features three key offerings:

  • deja PET: Fibers and filament yarns made from enhanced recycled textile waste, suitable for lifestyle applications like apparel and home textiles, as well as high-tenacity yarns and cords for technical uses such as tires and airbags.
  • deja Bio: Bio-based PET yarns with a substantially reduced carbon footprint, produced using a mass balance approach across eleven ISCC+ certified sites in Europe and Asia, ensuring performance on par with conventional solutions.
  • deja Enhanced: Solutions that convert hard-to-recycle packaging and textile waste into fibers and yarns, supporting circularity targets and flexible incorporation of reprocessed feedstock.

Through these initiatives, Indorama Ventures aims to collaborate across the value chain, enabling brand owners, customers, and technology partners to adopt sustainable practices while maintaining high performance standards. The company’s participation at the Lisbon conference underscores its commitment to shaping a more sustainable future for the man-made fibers industry.
