Trützschler Launches T-CAN, Fully Automated Can Transport System, At ITMA Asia 2025

Trützschler is set to transform can handling in spinning mills with the launch of T-CAN, a fully automated can transport system, making its live debut at ITMA Asia 2025. Designed to address rising labour costs, workforce shortages and increasing quality demands, T-CAN marks a major leap toward smart and efficient spinning operations.

The T-CAN system automates the transport of sliver cans between cards, breaker draw frames, and finisher draw frames, ensuring precise and efficient movement. It combines automated guided vehicles (AGVs) with an intelligent software interface that tracks each can in real time, placing it exactly where it belongs, minimizing manual handling while maximizing workflow accuracy.

“With T-CAN, we’re responding to our customers’ needs for intelligent automation,” said Alexander Stampfer, CSO, Trützschler Group. “Our goal was to create a solution that not only reduces operational costs, but also enhances quality and consistency in sliver handling. It’s a leap forward in making spinning mills smarter.”

The new system allows mills to maintain continuous production, even during lunch breaks and night shifts, improving overall efficiency and sliver quality. By reducing dependence on manual labour, T-CAN delivers measurable benefits, lower labour costs, higher machine utilization and consistent material flow.

Despite its advanced automation, T-CAN remains user-friendly, with an intuitive software interface that requires only minimal training. Its modular design also ensures scalability, making it suitable for both large, high-output mills and smaller mills aiming to automate progressively.

Early success has already been demonstrated at JINGYI Group in Sheyang, China, one of the first adopters of T-CAN. Following a successful pilot phase, the company implemented the system across more than 120 TC 26i cards and 240 draw frames.

“We were impressed by the performance and reliability of T-CAN during the pilot phase,” said Peng Fujian, Deputy General Manager, JINGYI Group. “It has significantly improved our efficiency and reduced staffing needs. That’s why we decided to expand it across our entire carding and draw frame section.”

Visitors to Trützschler’s booth at ITMA Asia 2025 can experience T-CAN live and explore how this next-generation automation system is redefining sliver handling, bringing smart manufacturing and operational excellence to the heart of the spinning mill.
