Union Textiles Minister Visits NITRA, Reviews Breakthrough Milkweed Fibre Research

Hon’ble Union Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh, visited NITRA, Ghaziabad to inspect the ongoing Milkweed (Aak) cultivation fields.

NITRA’s research on Milkweed fibre known for being heat-resistant, lightweight and eco-friendly is emerging as a promising breakthrough for the textile industry.

Led by NITRA’s Director General, Dr. M.S. Parmar, the project brings together multiple national institutions. During the visit, the Minister emphasized the fibre’s potential to generate new economic opportunities for farmers and support future sustainable material development.
