Jaypore Opens New Store At Mumbai’s Colaba Causeway

Jaypore, the artisanal lifestyle brand from the house of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, has opened its newest store at Colaba Causeway, one of Mumbai’s most culturally rich and historic retail precincts. The launch marks a significant expansion of the brand’s presence in Maharashtra and reinforces Jaypore’s long-standing affinity for heritage-led, creatively vibrant locations.
Located at 14, Balaji Bhawan, Harbour View, the 1037 sq. ft. store sits within a corridor known for its layered history, global influences and artisanal exchanges. Colaba Causeway has long served as a meeting ground for travellers, collectors and craftsmen, making it a natural extension of Jaypore’s philosophy rooted in the continuity of Indian craft.
The store interior reflects Jaypore’s signature design language of calm, tactility and material authenticity. Muted hues, handcrafted details and layered textures create a serene environment designed for slow discovery, allowing craft narratives and the stories of artisans to take centre stage.
A key highlight of the space is a hand-painted Warli art wall, interpreted through Jaypore’s contemporary lens. While traditional Warli art depicts everyday life, this installation captures the Karigari Ki Kahani, illustrating moments of making, transformation and the enduring journey of Indian craftsmanship through skilled hands and time-honoured practices.
Commenting on the launch, Manu Gupta, Vice President and Brand Head, Jaypore said, “Colaba carries a spirit that resonates deeply with Jaypore. It is shaped by culture, creativity and exchange. Opening a store here allows us to connect with audiences who value authenticity and heritage, while presenting Indian craft in a space that has always celebrated artistic expression and diversity.”
The new store houses Jaypore’s curated assortment of apparel, handcrafted jewellery and home accents, each reflecting the brand’s commitment to preserving traditional techniques while adapting them for contemporary living. The collections feature heritage crafts such as gota patti, zardozi and zari, alongside hand block prints and intricate hand embroidery. Fine textiles including Benarasi and Jamdani weaves add depth to the range, offering refined silhouettes with a modern sensibility.
Extending this narrative, the jewellery and home categories showcase rare and traditional crafts, from sculptural Dokra forms to intricate jewellery techniques like Thewa and Tarakashi. Apparel collections further highlight handloom weaves, Kalamkari and other regional textile traditions, creating a cohesive design story where heritage is thoughtfully reimagined rather than preserved in isolation.
With the opening of its eighth store, Jaypore continues to strengthen its connection with Mumbai through locations chosen for their cultural character and relevance. The expansion reflects the brand’s broader vision of building a retail footprint that is both contemporary and deeply rooted in India’s rich craft legacy.
