India–UK FTA Set For Rollout In 30–45 Days: Piyush Goyal

The India–UK Free Trade Agreement is expected to come into force within the next 30–45 days, according to Piyush Goyal, signalling a major step forward in bilateral trade relations.
The minister shared the update following a meeting with Peter Kyle on the sidelines of the World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference held in Cameroon. He noted that the agreement has already been approved by both Houses of the UK Parliament, paving the way for its imminent implementation.
Signed on July 24, 2025, the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) aims to significantly boost trade flows between the two countries. Under the deal, nearly 99% of Indian exports will gain duty-free access to the UK market, while India will gradually reduce tariffs on key British goods, including automobiles and whisky.
The agreement is expected to enhance market access, strengthen supply chains, and deepen economic ties between India and United Kingdom.
