SOKO Unveils Sustainable Denim Innovations At Kingpins Amsterdam
SOKO is set to showcase its latest sustainable denim innovations at the Kingpins Show Amsterdam on April 15–16, highlighting advanced finishing technologies and collaborative developments aimed at redefining performance and environmental responsibility in the denim sector.
At the event, SOKO will present Soko Shadow, a new dyeing solution designed to create distinctive vintage-inspired, multi-tone effects across a wide range of fabrics. The technology enables natural color accumulation around seams and pockets, delivering depth and character without the need for hazardous discharge chemicals.
A key highlight will be the collaborative collection Luxury Beyond Convention, developed with ISKO Luxury and creative director Paolo Gnutti. The collection reinterprets indigo through recycled applications and integrates SOKO’s technologies, including Hydrogel, Lumia and Frost, to create premium denim that blends aesthetics with sustainability.
SOKO will also spotlight its Hydrogel technology, an all-in-one solution designed to simplify denim finishing processes. The innovation can reduce processing time by up to 50% and cut water consumption by as much as 85%, enabling a complete finishing cycle in a single bath while eliminating multiple steps and chemical inputs.
Another key innovation on display is FROST, a sustainable alternative to traditional acid wash techniques. The solution delivers the desired worn aesthetic without the use of pumice stones or potassium permanganate, addressing long-standing environmental and safety concerns in denim processing.
In addition, SOKO will present a special collaboration involving Adriano Goldschmied widely known as the Godfather of Denim, in partnership with Pioneer Denim. The project combines advanced finishing technologies with premium cotton-wool fabrics, demonstrating how innovation and design can converge to create next-generation denim products.
Through these developments, SOKO aims to underline the role of chemistry-led innovation and strategic partnerships in shaping a more efficient, creative and sustainable future for the global denim industry.
