Bharat Tex 2026: India’s Textile Growth Moment

Seizing the global opportunity, India’s textile and apparel sector is accelerating toward its ambitious goal of building a US$ 350 billion industry, including US$ 100 billion in exports by 2030. With policy support, expanded trade access and capital alignment, Bharat Tex 2026, scheduled from July 14–17 at Bharat Mandapam, comes at a critical inflection point for the industry.

India’s trade policy has created a structural advantage through key free trade agreements with the European Union, the United Kingdom, the UAE and Australia, unlocking access to a US$ 465 billion global market. This provides Indian manufacturers with preferential or zero-duty access, positioning the country as a strong sourcing destination. The government has urged the industry to target at least US$ 200 billion from this expanded export opportunity.

On the domestic front, the Union Budget 2026–27 has reinforced sectoral growth through a set of coordinated initiatives, including the National Fibre Scheme, Textile Expansion and Employment Scheme, National Handloom and Handicraft Programme, Tex-Eco Initiative, Samarth 2.0 and a Rs 10,000 crore SME Growth Fund. These measures, along with continued support through RoSCTL and PLI schemes, provide a stable and predictable policy framework for industry expansion.

Against this backdrop, Bharat Tex 2026 is expected to serve as a key platform for global engagement. The event will host over 3,500 exhibitors and attract more than 7,000 international buyers from 140+ countries, making it one of the largest B2B textile gatherings in India. Anchored in India’s 5F vision – Farm to Fibre to Fabric to Fashion to Foreign, the event will showcase the country’s strengths in sustainability, innovation and integrated supply chains.

The policy environment is aligned. The trade access is in place. The buyers are coming. The moment to walk in is now.
