Lux Industries Approves Rs 600 Crore Expansion Of Dankuni Manufacturing Facility

Lux Industries Ltd. has approved a Rs 600 crore expansion of its Vertical A manufacturing facility at Dankuni, West Bengal, to significantly enhance production capacity and support future growth.

Approved by the company’s board on 4 July 2026, the investment includes the value of land acquired over the past few years and approximately Rs 450 crore in fresh capital expenditure. The expansion will add around 12 lakh sq. ft. of manufacturing and allied infrastructure, taking the facility’s total built-up area to nearly 20 lakh sq. ft.

The company currently has an annual production capacity of 12 crore pieces, operating at around 80% utilisation. The proposed expansion will add 18–20 crore pieces of annual capacity and is expected to be completed in phases over the next six years, funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt.

Upon completion, the Dankuni unit is expected to become one of Asia’s largest garment manufacturing facilities. The project is also projected to create around 3,000 direct and 6,000 indirect employment opportunities in West Bengal.

Lux Industries estimates the expanded Vertical A facility will generate incremental annual revenue of Rs 900–1,000 crore once it reaches optimum capacity utilisation, strengthening the company’s ability to meet rising domestic and international demand for knitwear products.
