Chhattisgarh Secures Investments Of Rs 973 Crore In Textiles Under IDP 2024-30

Chhattisgarh has attracted investment commitments worth nearly Rs 973 crore from four textile and garment companies under its Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, with the projects expected to generate more than 14,000 employment opportunities.

The commitments include Saravana Mills’ Rs 528 crore integrated textile and apparel manufacturing campus, Swift Textiles Pvt. Ltd.’s Rs 235 crore facility at Nava Raipur Textile Park, and investments of around Rs 210 crore by Puneet Creations and Drishti Designs LLP.

The recent Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for Swift Textiles’ facility, the first garment manufacturing unit at Nava Raipur Textile Park, marks the transition from investment commitments to on-ground execution.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the textile sector has significant potential to create employment for women and youth, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, while reducing migration by creating opportunities closer to home.

The state has identified textiles and ready-made garments as priority sectors under its Industrial Development Policy. Companies can avail incentives of up to 200% of fixed capital investment, including a 35% capital incentive linked to employment generation. The policy also offers monthly employment generation assistance of Rs 6,000 per female employee and Rs 5,000 per male employee for five years, along with training support of up to Rs 15,000 per employee.

The 81-acre Nava Raipur Textile Park, along with the adjoining Readymade Garment Park, offers plug-and-play infrastructure, including land, power, water, waste treatment and common facilities. Its location along the Mumbai–Howrah railway corridor, proximity to Visakhapatnam Port and connectivity to major commercial centres further enhance its potential for domestic and export-oriented manufacturing.

With investments spanning yarn manufacturing to finished garments and companies supplying global brands, Chhattisgarh is positioning itself as an emerging textile manufacturing hub with a strong focus on employment-led and export-oriented growth.
