Andhra Pradesh Attracts Rs 4,100 Crore Textile Investment Proposals At Bharat Tex 2026
Andhra Pradesh has attracted textile investment proposals worth Rs 4,100 crore at Bharat Tex 2026, strengthening the state’s position as an emerging destination for textile and apparel manufacturing.
The proposals were secured on the second day of the exhibition through two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), facilitated under the leadership of K. Rekha Rani, Commissioner of Handlooms and Textiles, Andhra Pradesh.
The largest proposal is for a Rs 4,000-crore sustainable textile recycling facility in Visakhapatnam. A second MoU involves a Rs 100-crore garment manufacturing unit, which is expected to generate approximately 3,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The Andhra Pradesh pavilion attracted political leaders, government officials and industry representatives during the event. Yemmiganur MLA Byreddy Jaya Nageswara Reddy interacted with representatives of textile park associations regarding the proposed Banavasi MSME Park and visited the Magic Weaves stall. He encouraged initiatives aimed at strengthening the brand identity and market presence of Yemmiganur’s textile products.
The pavilion was also visited by Dr M. Beena, Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles; Rohini Sindhuri, Secretary, MSME, Mines, Textiles and Sugar, Karnataka; and A. B. Basavaraj, Commissioner for Textile Development, Karnataka. The officials reviewed the exhibits and discussed opportunities for collaboration and capacity building with K. Rekha Rani.
Leading companies and industry organisations, including FabIndia, Arvind Ltd, Trident Group, Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC), Kancheepuram Silk Park, Texport Industries and Wazir Advisors, also explored sourcing, investment and marketing opportunities related to Andhra Pradesh’s handloom sector.
