Dhar PM MITRA Park Could Generate Jobs For 3 Lakh People: CM Mohan Yadav
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said the PM MITRA Park in Dhar district could generate direct and indirect employment for nearly three lakh people and benefit more than six lakh cotton-growing farmers in the Malwa-Nimar region.
Speaking at a Round Table Dialogue held during Bharat Tex 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, Yadav said the park could attract investments exceeding Rs 20,000 crore and bring more than 30 major companies to the state.
He highlighted the growing presence of Madhya Pradesh’s textile industry in international markets, including the United States, Bangladesh, Japan, Germany, Vietnam, Italy, the Netherlands and Australia. The state is home to hundreds of textile and garment units, while investments of around Rs 2,400 crore in the sector have generated employment for more than three lakh people, he said.
Referring to the Global Investors Summit 2025, Yadav said investment proposals worth nearly Rs 10 lakh crore had already been grounded. The state government has also transferred around Rs 5,500 crore in subsidy assistance to entrepreneurs through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.
Yadav said Madhya Pradesh had honoured its commitments to industrialists and investors, adding that all outstanding liabilities up to May 2026 had been cleared. Nearly Rs 5,500 crore had been disbursed as industrial subsidies over the past one-and-a-half years, he said.
The Chief Minister also outlined the state’s wider industrial development plans. A new industrial area is being developed in Narmadapuram with investments of around Rs 11,500 crore, while an IT Park is coming up in Rewa. Industrial parks are also being developed in Gwalior, Jabalpur, Singrauli, Satna, Katni and Sagar.
During the event, Yadav held one-to-one meetings with leading representatives of the textile industry to discuss investment, production, exports and employment generation.
Union Minister for Textiles Giriraj Singh, representatives of the textile industry and officials from the Union Ministry of Textiles and the Madhya Pradesh Government were present at the event.
