Maharashtra’s 24 Textile PLI Firms Invest Rs 167.5 Crore, Generate 904 Jobs
Twenty-four companies from Maharashtra approved under the Government of India’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Textiles have invested Rs 167.51 crore, generated a turnover of Rs 177.75 crore and created 904 jobs as of March 31, 2026, the Centre informed parliament.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Textiles Pabitra Margherita said that 170 companies have been approved under the Textile PLI Scheme nationwide, with 24 of them located in Maharashtra.
The PLI Scheme aims to promote the production of man-made fibre (MMF) apparel, MMF fabrics and technical textiles by encouraging fresh investments, expanding manufacturing capacity, improving competitiveness and increasing value addition.
To accelerate implementation, Ministry of Textiles regularly conducts reviews, open-house sessions and workshops with participating companies. In October 2025, the government introduced several reforms to make the scheme more attractive. These included the addition of 17 new HSN codes under MMF apparel and fabrics, a 50% reduction in the minimum investment threshold, a lowering of the incremental turnover requirement for incentives from 25% to 10%, and the removal of the requirement to establish a new company to avail benefits.
Following these changes, MSME participation increased significantly. Of the 96 applications received in the third round, 65 around 68% came from MSMEs.
Among Maharashtra-based beneficiaries, Microtex Processors Pvt Ltd recorded the highest investment at Rs 91.02 crore, followed by Spica Industries Pvt Ltd with Rs 76.37 crore. Spica Industries also reported a turnover of Rs 177.75 crore and generated 640 jobs.
The approved companies are spread across several districts, including Nagpur, Kolhapur, Pune, Dhule, Nandurbar, Akola, Amravati, Palghar, Satara and Aurangabad, highlighting the growing geographical spread of textile manufacturing investments across Maharashtra.
