According to Aayush Rathi, Director, Orange Group, the opportunity ahead is significant, with the digital textile printing market expected to witness substantial growth over the next three years.

It is against this backdrop that Orange Group has introduced Syahi Jet, a word deeply rooted in India’s language and culture. Syahi meaning ink, it represents the beginning of every story, every design and every innovation.

Today, that spirit takes a new form. Bringing together ink innovations and application expertise to address the diverse requirements of modern digital textile printing.

A New Chapter Begins with Syahi Jet
The launch of Syahi Jet represents more than the introduction of an ink product. It reflects Orange Group’s broader vision of strengthening the digital textile printing ecosystem through Made-in-India, in-house R&D and application-focused ink solutions.

According to the Syahi Jet portfolio, the company’s advanced ink range has been developed through in-house R&D with a focus on colour performance, consistency and efficiency, while addressing evolving production requirements. The portfolio is also presented as compliant with global environmental standards.

At the heart of the offering is a comprehensive portfolio covering five key ink technologies:

Five Pillars. One Digital Textile Ecosystem.

  1. Reactive Ink — Colour That Bonds with Fabric

Syahi Reactive Inks are designed for natural fibres such as cotton, where they form a strong chemical bond with the fabric. The portfolio is positioned for vibrant, long-lasting colours and applications across fashion, home textiles and garments.

The inks are compatible with fabrics including cotton, linen, silk, wool, cashmere, bamboo fibre and rayon/soybean, offering versatility across natural-fibre applications.

  1. Pigment Ink — One Ink, Endless Applications

Pigment inks provide a versatile solution across both natural and synthetic fabrics, with the portfolio highlighting durability and resistance to washing and light fading.

Syahi Pigment Ink is positioned for applications ranging from cotton apparel and T-shirts to canvas products, bags and blended fabrics, with compatible fabrics including silk, cotton-poly blends, cotton, wool and polyester.

  1. Sublimation Ink — Precision Through Heat Transformation

Designed primarily for polyester-based applications, Syahi Sublimation Ink uses heat transformation to bond with fibres and produce vibrant, long-lasting and fade-resistant prints.

The portfolio specifies applications for textiles containing more than 60% polyester, covering segments such as fashion, swimwear, sportswear and home décor.

  1. Disperse Ink — Colour Engineered for Synthetic Fibres

Syahi Disperse Ink is developed for polyester and synthetic textile printing, with an emphasis on vibrant colour, penetration and durability.

The range is designed for polyester, micro polyester, sportswear fabrics, performance textiles and polyester blends containing 60% or more polyester. Its applications extend across sportswear, fashion apparel, home textiles, soft signage, flags and banners, and upholstery fabrics.

  1. DTF Ink — Direct to Film, Direct to Performance

The Syahi DTF Ink range is engineered for vibrant transfers across a wide range of fabrics, with the portfolio highlighting high white opacity, reliable transfer performance and durable prints.

The range is compatible with cotton, polyester and cotton/poly blends, making it suitable for applications including T-shirts, hoodies, fashion garments and promotional apparel.

Together, these five technologies give Syahi Jet a broad portfolio capable of addressing diverse textile substrates and applications — from fashion and apparel to home textiles, sportswear, promotional products and industrial applications.

From Digital Adoption to Digital Industrialisation
For years, digital textile printing was associated primarily with flexibility — the ability to produce shorter runs, respond quickly to changing designs and offer greater customization.

But the industry is now moving beyond that stage. The next opportunity lies in industrialising digital printing.

As textile manufacturers increasingly evaluate digital technologies for larger-scale production, the requirements are changing. Speed, consistency, reliability, economics and integration between different components of the printing ecosystem are becoming increasingly important.

This is where the evolution towards single-pass printing becomes particularly significant. Single-pass technology represents a fundamentally different approach to digital production, with the potential to take digital textile printing closer to the scale and productivity requirements of industrial manufacturing.

For India, where textile production operates at enormous scale, this transition could be particularly important.

Why Made-in-India Ink Technology Matters
The development of domestic ink technology adds another important dimension to this transformation.

Digital textile printing is not simply about the printer itself. Ink is an integral part of the overall printing process, and its development requires an understanding of the interaction between technology, substrates, printheads and production requirements.

With Syahi Jet, Orange Group is bringing greater attention to the role that Indian-developed ink technology can play in the country’s digital printing journey.

The significance goes beyond the label of Made in India.

It is about building technological capability within India and contributing to an ecosystem where Indian companies can increasingly participate in innovation rather than remaining only users of imported solutions.

The Syahi portfolio is designed around this philosophy, with the company highlighting in-house R&D, production capability and compatibility with multiple industrial printhead platforms. The portfolio lists compatibility with printheads from Kyocera, Epson I3200, Epson S3200, Ricoh Gen 6, Konica and Starfire.

Scale That Supports the Opportunity
Technology innovation must ultimately be supported by the ability to deliver consistently at scale.

Syahi’s portfolio currently states a production capacity of 250 tonnes per month, providing a foundation for supporting the growing requirements of the digital textile printing market.

This combination of technology, application expertise and production capability becomes increasingly relevant as digital textile printing moves towards larger industrial volumes.

The Industry Is Ready for the Next Shift
The transformation of textile printing is being driven by several forces simultaneously. Brands are demanding faster response times. Manufacturers are looking for greater production flexibility. Consumers are seeking more personalization and variety. And businesses are increasingly evaluating technologies that can help them produce more efficiently while responding to a rapidly changing market. These trends are creating fertile ground for digital textile printing.

Orange Group’s journey in the sector has been built around this transition, with its focus extending across digital textile printing machinery, technology and now a dedicated ink portfolio. Syahi Jet represents the next step in that journey.

Beyond a Product Launch
What makes Syahi Jet significant is the larger story behind it. It is a story about the evolution of India’s textile industry. It is about moving from adopting digital technologies to developing them. It is about strengthening the technology ecosystem around digital textile printing. And it is about preparing Indian textile manufacturers for the next phase of industrial digital production.

The five-technology Syahi portfolio — Reactive, Pigment, Sublimation, Disperse and DTF — gives Orange Group a platform to participate across a broad range of digital textile applications.

The Future of Textile Printing Is Being Written Today
India has the textile manufacturing strength, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, the market opportunity, and increasingly, the technological ambition to shape the future of digital textile printing. Syahi Jet brings another piece of that ambition to life.

More than a new ink technology, it represents a step towards a broader, more capable and increasingly self-reliant digital textile-printing ecosystem.

With an increasing focus on exports, Syahi Jet is expanding its manufacturing capabilities through a new 50,000 sq. ft. plant, designed to achieve a production capacity of up to 600 tonnes per month.

The expansion will strengthen Syahi Jet’s ability to serve growing domestic demand while taking Made-in-India digital textile inks to global markets.

Greater scale. Global ambition. One Made-in-India ink platform.

Syahi Jet: Made in India. Built for the future of digital textile printing.
