Trent’s Zudio Crosses 1,000-Store Milestone In India

Trent’s value-fashion brand Zudio has crossed the 1,000-store milestone in India, marking a major expansion nearly a decade after its launch in 2016.
The brand now operates across more than 300 cities and has served over 100 million customers, reinforcing the growing demand for organised value-fashion retail beyond India’s major metropolitan markets.
Zudio had 963 stores across 310 cities in India at the end of FY26, along with three stores in the UAE, according to Trent’s annual report. The company added 208 domestic Zudio stores during FY26, with more than 80% of new outlets located in Tier II and Tier III cities and peripheral markets around Tier I cities.
The rapid expansion has made Zudio a key growth driver for Trent’s fashion business. Its store network increased from 233 outlets in FY22 to 963 by the end of FY26.
Zudio typically operates stores of around 10,000-12,000 sq ft, with capital employed for a new outlet estimated at Rs 3-4 crore, including capital expenditure, deposits and inventory. The relatively compact format allows Trent to establish stores across multiple micro-markets.
The brand’s business model is built around in-house brands, frequent merchandise refreshes, value-oriented pricing and a largely domestic sourcing base. Trent has also maintained an offline-focused strategy for Zudio, citing the economics of online retail for its product segment.
Trent reported revenue of Rs 19,701.41 crore in FY26. For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, standalone revenue from operations rose 19% year-on-year to Rs 5,666 crore, while standalone profit after tax increased 26% to Rs 532 crore.
Zudio added 22 stores during the June quarter, including one in the UAE, before subsequently crossing the 1,000-store mark in India.
The expansion highlights Trent’s strategy of taking organised fashion retail deeper into smaller cities, with Zudio complementing its larger-format Westside fashion chain and Star grocery business.
