Odisha Clears Rs 184 Cr Textile Projects, To Create 4,835 Jobs

The Odisha government has approved 19 industrial investment proposals worth Rs 3,280.58 crore, with the textile, apparel and technical textiles sector accounting for two projects that together represent an investment of Rs 184 crore and are expected to generate 4,835 employment opportunities.

The approvals were granted at the 150th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg. The projects span sectors including textiles and apparel, technical textiles, food processing, steel downstream, global capability centres, biofuel, chemicals, circular economy, plastics and tourism.

Among the approved projects, Dollar Industries will establish an integrated hosiery manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of Rs 125 crore. The facility will cover finished hosiery manufacturing, knitting fabrics, bleaching and dyeing, and is expected to generate 1,185 employment opportunities.

Sai Workwear Pvt Ltd will set up an integrated technical textiles manufacturing unit in Puri with an investment of Rs 59 crore. The project will manufacture apparel, fire-retardant workwear and protective technical textiles, creating an estimated 3,650 jobs.

Together, the two projects are expected to strengthen Odisha’s textile manufacturing base by expanding capacity across hosiery, knitting, textile processing, workwear and protective technical textiles. The investments also support the state’s efforts to promote value-added manufacturing and employment generation through diversified industrial development.

The approved projects will be implemented across several districts of Odisha, with the textile and technical textile investments located in Khordha and Puri.
