Roaches Delivers Record Textile Lab Order To Indonesia

Roaches International, a member of the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA), has delivered its largest integrated textile laboratory equipment order to Indonesia’s Alia Digital Printex.

The shipment comprises 19 testing machines weighing more than two tonnes for a new laboratory supporting the company’s expanding manufacturing operations and fabric quality requirements.

Established in Jakarta in 2017, Alia Digital Printex specialises in digital textile printing and fabric production for scarves, hijabs, prayer garments and apparel. It employs more than 500 people and has a printing capacity of 18,000 metres per day, serving domestic and international fashion brands.

Working with Indonesian partner PT. Kawan Era Baru, Roaches coordinated laboratory design, equipment specification, manufacturing, dispatch and on-site engineering support.

Roaches Marketing Executive Seth Seagraves said the project demonstrates the benefits of sourcing a complete testing laboratory from one specialist supplier, including equipment standardisation, training, maintenance and technical support.

He added that greater connectivity between testing instruments could help manufacturers combine laboratory data to better understand fabric quality and performance as artificial intelligence develops.

Roaches is also developing technologies such as its Martindale AXYZ and Sentire systems to advance digital control and objective measurement in laboratory operations.

BTMA CEO Jason Kent said the order reflects British textile technology suppliers’ international reputation for innovation, engineering expertise and customer support.
