Indian Garment Exports Down 17.3% in July 2023

For the month of July 2023, shipments of textiles were down 1.9 percent, while those of garments dropped higher at 17.37 per cent, when compared with July 2022.

Textile exports touched US $1.66 billion in July 2023 as against $1.69 billion last July, while garment exports totaled $1.14 billion last month as against $1.38 billion in same month of 2022.

“Cotton yarn, fabrics, and made-ups registered 6.62 percent growth in July 2023 as against July 2022,” data released by the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) informed.

“However, shipments of manmade yarn, fabrics, and made-ups, jute products, carpets, handicrafts, and apparel items registered negative growth,” CITI added.
