Abercrombie & Fitch Co. Promotes Robert Ball As CFO

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. has announced the promotion of Robert Ball to Chief Financial Officer, effective November 20, 2024. In his new role, Ball will join the company’s executive leadership team, reporting to Scott Lipesky, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Ball, who has nearly 22 years of experience with Abercrombie & Fitch Co., was previously the Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance, Investor Relations and Treasury. He will succeed Lipesky, who served as CFO from 2017 to 2023 and now leads the company’s global operations and growth strategies as COO.

Fran Horowitz, Chief Executive Officer, commented, “With Scott’s promotion to COO, we had an opportunity to elevate a talented leader within our finance organization. Robert’s decades of experience and close partnership with our executive team make him uniquely qualified to help drive our strategies forward.”

Ball expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, “There is tremendous opportunity ahead, and I look forward to working closely with Fran, Scott, and our leaders to deliver on our long-term growth ambitions.”

Before becoming CFO, Ball held various finance leadership positions at A&F Co., including CFO of the Abercrombie & Fitch and Abercrombie kids brands, and has been integral to the company’s transformation. He joined A&F Co. in 2003 after starting his career as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch.
