ACIMIT Leads Italian Textile Machinery Mission To Bangladesh

Italy’s textile machinery industry is reinforcing its presence in Bangladesh with a two-city business mission aimed at supporting the country’s technological advancement and transition toward higher-value textile production.
Organised by ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka, the mission will take place on July 7 in Dhaka and July 9 in Chittagong. The workshops will bring Italian technology providers together with leading Bangladeshi textile manufacturers through B2B meetings and technical seminars.
Bangladesh continues to be a strategic market for Italian textile machinery exports. Asia accounts for 40% of Italy’s textile machinery exports, valued at €667 million, with Bangladesh emerging as a key growth market. In 2025, Italian exports of textile machinery to Bangladesh reached €71 million, marking a 17% year-on-year increase.
The Italian textile machinery industry comprises around 300 companies, exporting 86% of its production to 130 countries. The sector is recognised for its production flexibility and customised technological solutions.
Commenting on the initiative, Marco Salvadè, President of ACIMIT, said the strong export growth highlights the confidence of Bangladesh’s textile industry in Italian technology.
“The 17% growth recorded in 2025 confirms that Bangladeshi manufacturers see Italian companies as trusted partners in enhancing quality and efficiency. By holding workshops in both Dhaka and Chittagong, we aim to support the country’s two major textile hubs with tailored technological solutions that drive innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness. This mission also serves as a stepping stone towards ITMA Hanover 2027, where we will showcase the next generation of Italian textile machinery,” he said.
Participating Italian companies include Color Service, Corino Macchine, Danti, Durst, L.A.I.P., Lawer, Monti-Mac, MS Printing Solutions, Roj, Pentek, Pinter Caipo, Reggiani Macchine, Salvadè, Tecnorama and Ugolini.
