Adidas Inks Record $1.1bn Apparel Deal With Manchester United
Football club Manchester United has signed an astounding and record-breaking US $1.1 billion deal with Adidas to extend their garment uniforms sponsorship for the next 10 years.
Adidas will continue to make the soccer club’s apparel uniforms through 2035 and Adidas said there will be a greater focus on Manchester United’s women’s team.
The German company had taken over as Manchester United’s uniform partner in 2015 after the soccer club ended its partnership with Nike.
“The relationship between Manchester United and Adidas is one of the most iconic in world sport, forged through a shared commitment to style, flair and, most importantly, high performance,” Richard Arnold, CEO at Manchester United said.
Manchester United was valued at $6 billion by Forbes magazine in its annual valuation of professional sports franchises.
