Aditya Birla Group Showcases Integrated Technical Textile Strength At Techtextil 2026

The Aditya Birla Group, a US$ 67 billion global conglomerate headquartered in Mumbai, highlighted its expanding capabilities in technical textiles at Techtextil 2026 in Frankfurt, strengthening India’s growing stature as a global hub for high-performance textile solutions.
The group’s participation imitates its strategic evolution from a US$ 5 billion textile value chain player to a solutions-driven, sustainability-led partner catering to high-performance and safety-critical applications. It also highlights the increasing alignment of Indian manufacturers with global benchmarks in innovation, quality and environmental responsibility.
India, currently the fifth-largest technical textiles market globally, is witnessing robust growth at a CAGR of 7.6%, driven by rising domestic demand, export diversification and expanding applications across industries such as manufacturing, mobility, construction, renewable energy and healthcare. Backed by continued investments in advanced manufacturing, R&D, automation, and skill development, the country is steadily transitioning from commodity production to precision-engineered, value-added materials.

Speaking at the event, Kapil Agrawal, Business Head – Textiles, Thai Acrylic Fibre and Overseas Spinning, Aditya Birla Group, said, “The global technical textiles market is evolving rapidly, and customers are seeking partners who can combine innovation, scale, and reliability. India’s strength in fibre chemistry, spinning and integrated manufacturing makes it a compelling proposition for global buyers. Our participation at Techtextil 2026 reflects both India’s progress in advanced manufacturing and our commitment to being a one-stop solutions provider.”
At the exhibition, the Group brought together four of its key businesses: Aditya Birla Yarn, Century Enka, Birla Cellulose and Viscose Filament Yarn, under a unified platform, One ABG Technical Textiles. This integrated approach signals a strategic shift from operating as individual material suppliers to positioning itself as a comprehensive solutions partner for the global technical textiles ecosystem.
Under this platform, the Group showcased application-led portfolios spanning MobilTech, ProTech, InduTech, HomeTech and emerging segments such as GeoTech, reflecting broader industry trends including value chain upgradation, increasing regulatory and performance demands, supply chain realignment and the push toward sustainability and circularity.
Agrawal added, “Our vision is to be a globally influential, innovation-led partner that sets new benchmarks for performance, responsibility and excellence in technical textiles.”
With Europe remaining a key market driven by stringent regulatory and environmental standards, the Group’s presence at Techtextil Frankfurt signals its long-term commitment to strengthening partnerships and expanding its footprint across the region.
