Alchemie Technology Recognized For Sustainability Efforts In Textile Industry

Alchemie Technology, a leading clean-tech company, has been featured in a prestigious new book celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Commonwealth and King Charles III’s role as Head of the Commonwealth.

The book, titled The Commonwealth at 75, includes an article by Dr Alan Hudd, founder and CEO of Alchemie Technology, highlighting the company’s mission to reduce emissions and pollution in the textile sector.

Published by St James’s House in collaboration with the History of Parliament Trust, the book features contributions from notable royal authors and veteran photographer Arthur Edwards.

In his article, Dr Hudd elaborates on Alchemie’s Endeavour machine, which employs innovative digital technology to dye fabrics precisely where needed. This approach significantly reduces wastewater pollution, carbon emissions and energy consumption.

Following this launch, Alchemie Technology received a £750,000 grant to spearhead efforts in combating textile finishing pollution between the UK and Taiwan. The Endeavour digital dyeing process reduces the carbon footprint of dyeing by up to 85%, eliminates up to 95% of wastewater, and decreases the use of chemicals by up to 30%.

Dr Alan Hudd expressed his pride in the recognition, stating, “It’s an honour to see Alchemie’s work recognized in such a prestigious publication, marking 75 years of the Commonwealth. Tackling emissions and pollution in the global supply chain is a top priority for the textile and fashion industry, yet 90% of textile companies still use traditional, water- and chemical-intensive dyeing processes. We are proud to bring this game-changing product to market, which contributes to a cleaner, greener Commonwealth for the future.”
