Andritz Acquires Airlaid Nonwovens Technology Business

German nowovens technology producer Andritz has acquired Dan-Web, a supplier of wide range of airlaid nonwovens technologies. According to Andritz, the acquisition further extends and strengthens its product and service portfolio in nonwovens technologies. Andritz has been cooperating with Dan-Web for the supply of airlaid systems when providing complete production lines for many years.

Dan-Web designs and builds customised machines and turnkey plants to produce airlaid nonwovens for baby diapers, fem care, incontinence products, wipes, and other applications. Dan-Web has a legacy of almost 50 years and also has around 50 employees at its facility in Galten.

With this acquisition, Andritz has added competence in airlaid technology to its comprehensive product portfolio, which already includes air-through bonding, needlepunch, spunlace, spunbond, wetlaid/wetlace, as well as converting of nonwovens, textile finishing, textile recycling, and natural fibre processing technologies.

Dan-Web’s product range also enables Andritz to participate in the drylaid cellulose process for the production of environmentally friendly packaging and single-use products.
